ISIS Forces Last Iraqi Christians to Flee Mosu

July 21, 2014 – 10:38 pm
By ALISSA J. RUBINJULY 18, 2014 BAGHDAD — By 1 p.m. on Friday almost every Christian in Mosul had heard the Sunni militants’ message — they had until noon Saturday to leave the city. Men, women and children piled into neighbors’ cars, some begged for rides to the city limits and hoped to get taxis to the nearest Christian villages. They took nothing more than the clothes on their backs, according to several who were reached late Friday. The order from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria came after Christians decided not to attend a meeting that ISIS had arranged for Thursday night to discuss their status. “We were so afraid to go,” said Duraid Hikmat, an expert on minorities who had done research for years in Mosul. He fled two weeks ago to Al Qosh, a largely Christian town barely an hour away, but his extended family left on Friday. Since 2003, when Saddam ...

Convert, pay tax, or die, Islamic State warns Christians

July 19, 2014 – 9:28 pm
Reuters July 18, 2014 2:14 PM  BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Islamist insurgents have issued an ultimatum to northern Iraq's dwindling Christian population to either convert to Islam, pay a religious levy or face death, according to a statement distributed in the militant-controlled city of Mosul. The statement issued by the Islamic State, the al Qaeda offshoot which led last month's lightning assault to capture swathes of north Iraq, and seen by Reuters, said the ruling would come into effect on Saturday. It said Christians who wanted to remain in the "caliphate" that the Islamic State declared this month in parts of Iraq and Syria must agree to abide by terms of a "dhimma" contract - a historic practice under which non-Muslims were protected in Muslim lands in return for a special levy known as "jizya". "We offer them three choices: Islam; the dhimma contract - involving payment of jizya; if they refuse this they will ...

Islamic State: We Support Your Fight Against Israel, We Must Attack America First

July 14, 2014 – 2:26 pm
In a statement a spokesperson for the group, Nidal Nuseiri reaffirmed that conquering “Bayt el-Maqdis” (Jerusalem) and destroying the State of Israel is central to the group’s “jihad”, or holy war. However, he pointed out that ISIS has been taking a systematic approach in its campaign, and outlined six specific stages it said needed to be fulfilled before taking on Israel. Some of those “stages” – building a firm base for an Islamic state in Iraq, and using it as a springboard to wage war in Syria and Lebanon – have already been achieved. But he said a number of other criteria still needed to be fulfilled before challenging Israel directly. Among them, Nuseiri said that the US – seen as Israel’s greatest ally – needed to be weakened politically and economically via attacks on the American mainland, as well as US interests in Muslim countries. Additionally, the existing “Islamic State” needed to expand ...

July 12, 2014 – 6:22 pm
15:45, 12 July, 2014 YEREVAN, JULY 12, ARMENPRESS. On the threshold of the presidential elections in Turkey, the Turkish independent news website introduced the true story of the Turkish presidential residence to its readers. According to the website, the Çankaya palace building of the Turkish presidential residence once belonged to the Kasabian family, which was massacred during the Armenian Genocide. As reports “Armenpress”, the Turkish website states that notwithstanding the official version states that the Kasabians “sold” Çankaya to the Bulgurluzâde family, Edward Chuhaji, the descendant of the family in the third generation, who currently lives in Ottawa, Canada, personally told the truth, which the Turkish state kept secret from its own people for 99 years.

ISIS threatens to storm Jordan with 15,000 fighters

July 7, 2014 – 9:12 pm
Al-Qaida-inspired jihadists seize border crossing Published: 06/23/2014 at 1:54 PM TEL AVIV – Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria are claiming on jihadist websites that the group is preparing an operation in which more than 15,000 of its militants will storm into Jordan, WND has found. The claims were made on Arabic jihadist websites in which the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, is known to be active. While it was unclear whether or not the ISIS could fulfill its threat to storm Jordan, the al-Qaida-inspired group on Sunday reportedly seized control of Iraq’s main border crossing with Jordan. Alongside its capture of the Turabil border crossing, three more towns in Iraq’s western Anbar province fell to ISIS, putting the jihadist group within reach of Jordan. According to informed Middle Eastern security officials, Jordan has been holding emergency meetings since Sunday to discuss a possible military response, while the Jordanian air ...

ISIS, Names Leader of New Caliphate, Formally Declares Islamic State

June 29, 2014 – 6:40 pm
I told you so! It is happening! The beast is rising from the Abyss. BAGHDAD (TheBlaze/AP) — The Al Qaeda breakaway group that has seized huge tracks of Iraq and much of neighboring northern Syria has named the leader of the new caliphate and formally declared the creation of an Islamic state in the territory under its control. The spokesman for the group, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, made the announcement in an audio statement posted online Sunday. Abu Mohammed al-Adnani said the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is the head of the new caliphate — a term used to describe a medieval Islamic state. Al-Adnani called on those living in the area under the group’s control to swear allegiance to al-Baghdadi. Islamic extremists have long dreamed of recreating the Islamic caliphate that ruled over the Middle East for hundreds of years. It was unclear what immediate practical impact the declaration would have on the ...

Brotherhood gave $25 million to al-Qaeda for support in Egypt, says former jihad leader

April 12, 2014 – 9:52 pm
Raymond Ibrahim Apr 11, 2014 at 7:06am Al-Qaeda, Muslim Brotherhood, United States 2 Comments Yesterday on Haya TV, Nabil Na‘im, a former leader of Egypt’s Islamic Jihad and close confidante of current al-Qaeda leader, Ayman Zawahiri—who also helped found Egypt’s Islamic Jihad—asserted that, during the reign of former president Muhammad Morsi, Zawahiri was given $25 million from Muslim Brotherhood leader Khairat al-Shatter to organize, fund, and assemble the jihadi groups “in order to support the Brotherhood.”  (For more on the Muslim Brotherhood/Al-Qaeda relationship, click here). It should be noted that al-Shatter, though not a member of Morsi’s government—only a leader of the Brotherhood—was, after being imprisoned after the revolution, asked for personally by John McCain during his visit to Egypt some months back, when he pushed for Brotherhood reinstatement.  Also, U.S. ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson was reportedly seen visiting Shatter often. Earlier, Na‘im, the former Jihad leader had said that attempts by the U.S. to “reconcile” Egypt with the Muslim ...

Muslim Brotherhood Launches Political Party in America

April 11, 2014 – 11:47 am
Jim Denison | Denison Forum on Truth and Culture | Wednesday, April 09, 2014 The Muslim Brotherhood is launching a political party in America for the purpose of electing Muslims and influencing legislation that is favorable to Islam.  This development should come as no surprise: the number of mosques in the United States has escalated 74 percent since 2000.  The government of Turkey is building a $100 million mega mosque in Maryland.  There are now 66 mosques in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. According to a recent survey, 98 percent of mosque leaders say Muslims should be involved in American institutions, and 91 percent agree that Muslims should be involved in politics.  We should expect to see a growing number of Muslim candidates for office, and a growing number of Muslims who will support them financially. Islam is not the only non-Christian movement to make headlines today, as this is "Humanism at Yale Week."  Monday was "Ask an Atheist" day; Tuesday ...
